聖依搦斯（貞女、殉道）

聖女於第四世紀初在羅馬殉道，年僅13歲。教宗達瑪蘇曾為她撰寫「墓誌銘」；許多教父，繼聖安博之後，爭相讚頌。

全能永生的天主，你揀選了世上的弱者，使強者蒙羞；求你仁慈垂允我們，使我們在慶祝聖依搦斯在天上的生辰，也能效法她，在信德上堅定不移。因你的聖子、我們的主耶穌基督，他和你及聖神，是唯一天主，永生永王。 亞孟。

Saint Agnes, Virgin and Martyr

St. Agnes (d. 304) came from a noble Roman family. She was about thirteen years old when she suffered martyrdom by beheading, having resisted threats of torture. Her name is included in the Roman Canon (Eucharistic Prayer I).

Collect

Almighty ever-living God, 

who choose what is weak in the world to confound the strong, 

mercifully grant, 

that we, who celebrate the heavenly birthday 

of your Martyr Saint Agnes, 

may follow her constancy in the faith.  

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, 

who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, 

one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
