聖瑪利亞瑪達肋納
耶穌曾在瑪利亞瑪達肋納身上趕出七個魔鬼。瑪利亞瑪達肋納與其他婦女和門徒一同追隨基督（路8:1-3）。她親見基督被釘死（谷15:40-41）。復活日清晨，復活的基督首先顯現給她（谷16:1-9；若20:11-18）。東西方教會都視她作為基督復活的首位見證人，及首位傳福音者。
耶穌顯現給瑪利亞（若20:11-18）
瑪利亞卻站在墳墓外邊痛哭；她痛哭的時候，就俯身向墳墓裏面窺看，見有兩位穿白衣的天使，坐在安放過耶穌遺體的地方：一位在頭部，一位在腳部。那兩位天使對她說：「女人！你哭什麼？」她答說：「有人把我主搬走了，我不知道他們把他放在那裏了。」說了這話，就向後轉身，見耶穌站在那裏，卻不知道他就是耶穌。耶穌向她說：「女人，你哭什麼？你找誰？」她以為是園丁，就說：「先生，若是你把他搬走了，請告訴我，你把他放在那裏，我去取回他來。」耶穌給她說：「瑪利亞！」她便轉身用希伯來話對他說：「辣步尼！」就是說「師傅。」耶穌向她說：「你別拉住我不放，因為我還沒有升到父那裏；你到我的弟兄那裏去，告訴他們：我升到我的父和你們的父那裏去，升到我的天主和你們的天主那裏去。」瑪利亞瑪達肋納就去告訴門徒說：「我見了主。」並報告了耶穌對她所說的那些話。

天主，你的唯一聖子首先委託瑪利亞瑪達肋納，傳報他復活的喜訊；求你使我們因聖女的轉求和榜樣，在世勇於宣講生活的基督，日後享見基督在你光榮中為王。他和你及聖神，是唯一天主，永生永王。亞孟。
Saint Mary Magdalene
Christ cast seven devils out of St. Mary, she ministered to him in Galilee, was one of the few who remained with Chirist during his Agony on the Cross, and with other women visited his tomb and found it empty. Our Lord first appeared to her after his Resurrection, asking her to announce his Resurrection to the Apostles. She is known as the “Apostle to the Apostles.”
The Appearance to Mary Magdala (Jn 20:11-18)
But Mary stayed outside the tomb weeping.f And as she wept, she bent over into the tomb and saw two angels in white sitting there, one at the head and one at the feet where the body of Jesus had been. And they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken my Lord, and I don’t know where they laid him.” When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus there, but did not know it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?” She thought it was the gardener and said to him, “Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take him.” Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni,” which means Teacher. Jesus said to her, “Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” Mary of Magdala went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord,” and what he told her.
Collect
O God, whose Only Begotten Son
entrusted Mary Magdalene before all others
with announcing the great joy of the Resurrection,
grant, we pray,
that through her intercession and example
we may proclaim the living Christ
and come to see him reigning in your glory.
Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
