Serving public community
Since 2019, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church has gathered volunteers across the city in the midst of social movement and pandemic to share the love of God with the larger community. On Thursdays, volunteers help to pack face masks and prepare supplies for the homeless. On Fridays, they bring along with them the supplies to the different areas and to visit people who are homeless, elderly scavengers, street cleaners, elders who live alone. Following this calling from God, we have become friends with each other as we distribute meal coupons, shopping vouchers and supplies according to their needs. From nothing to everything, we experience a mutual enrichment, as we go through this process of social care and concern where God's love felt by both giver and receiver.
We invite parents to bring their children and young people to join our service. They will learn about the needs from different social backgrounds, nurturing their compassion and a sense of responsibility through this service of love!
We also accept for charity support financially, the expenditures for helping the community includes meal vouchers, supermarket vouchers, shopping vouchers, dry food, and daily necessities, all rely on donations from everyone.
Recent mass
You can always catch up with the words of God. As Mother Mary kept all the things and reflected on them in her heart, we can follow her example by revisiting the online mass!
